Pumpkin has long ceased to be just a vegetable – today it is one of the brightest and most recognizable symbols of autumn. It is used for savory and sweet dishes: boiled, stewed, baked, and even pickled. One of the most unusual yet incredibly delicious desserts that will perfectly complement a cozy family tea party or a festive holiday table is pumpkin poppy seed pie.
Making this homemade pie does not require much time, effort, or expensive ingredients. All you need is fresh pumpkin pulp and high-quality poppy seeds. Adding them to the dough not only enhances the flavor but also makes the dessert healthy and nutritious.
Poppy seeds are rich in easily digestible plant proteins, dietary fiber, essential fatty acids, as well as vitamins E, H, K, and B-group vitamins. They also contain valuable minerals such as calcium, iron, zinc, and phosphorus.
Regular consumption of poppy seeds has a positive effect on cardiovascular health, helps relieve stress, and combats insomnia and night awakenings caused by nervous tension. They are especially beneficial for people with heart failure and asthma, as they help normalize heart rhythm and prevent swelling of the respiratory tract mucosa.
