As the cold season approaches, the «flu and cold season» begins, making it especially important to strengthen your immune system and maintain overall body tone. One of the best ways to do this is through vitamin smoothies and healthy drinks. These beverages not only deliver great taste but also help replenish essential vitamins, minerals, and nutrients that support the proper functioning of your body.
A vitamin cocktail with chia seeds is not just filling but also incredibly beneficial for the immune system. Chia seeds are rich in omega-3 fatty acids, which help reduce inflammation and support immunity. They also contain vitamins B1 and B3 (thiamine and niacin), which regulate the body’s response to viruses and bacteria, as well as zinc and selenium — minerals with strong anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties.
When mixed with liquid ingredients such as juice, yogurt, or water, chia seeds absorb the liquid and form a natural gel, making drinks thicker and more satisfying. Thanks to this property, a chia smoothie helps you stay full for longer without overloading your digestive system.

In a glass or bowl, mix the kefir and fresh orange juice. Add honey and stir until smooth. Sprinkle in the chia seeds and mix again. Let the drink sit for 10–15 minutes to allow the chia to swell.

Notes & tips:
One serving of this smoothie contains about 180 kcal, making it perfect even for those following a low-calorie diet or weight-loss program. You can substitute orange juice with grapefruit or mandarin juice.
Instead of chia, you can use flax seeds, which also swell and create a jelly-like texture. For those who prefer less sweet options, try a green smoothie with kefir, fresh herbs, chia seeds, and black cumin.
