Garlic salt is a seasoning blend made from table salt and dried, ground garlic in a 70:30 ratio. It may also contain aromatic herbs, primarily marjoram and basil. Using garlic salt instead of adding salt and garlic separately can make seasoning more convenient, but it does not automatically reduce sodium intake. To limit sodium, use it sparingly and check the product label.
CraftOil offers organic, 100% natural garlic salt, stored under appropriate conditions and shipped throughout Ukraine and worldwide in convenient, tightly sealed plastic jars.
The CraftOil online store also offers ground black pepper, basil, marjoram, savory, paprika, and many other spices, dried herbs, and seasonings. To explore the full product range and learn more about how to use these ingredients in your cooking, submit an inquiry through the website.
Ingredients
For two servings of this tender, melt-in-your-mouth healthy zucchini casserole, you will need:
- 1 large zucchini;
- 300–400 g ground chicken;
- 1.5 tablespoons sour cream;
- 1.5 tablespoons ketchup;
- 2 teaspoons garlic salt;
- 100 g hard cheese of your choice;
Step-by-step instructions
Rinse the zucchini thoroughly and trim off the stem. Using a vegetable peeler or a sharp knife, slice the zucchini lengthwise into thin strips. Place approximately 1.5 teaspoons of ground chicken on each zucchini strip. Roll up the strips to create small zucchini rolls, then arrange them in a baking dish lightly greased with vegetable oil.
Grate the cheese using a fine or medium grater. Alternatively, cut it into small pieces.
In a separate bowl, combine the sour cream, ketchup, and garlic salt. Mix until smooth. The sauce should have a moderately thick consistency, similar to pancake batter. Pour the sauce evenly over the zucchini rolls with ground chicken. Sprinkle the grated cheese on top.
Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C (356°F) for approximately 30 minutes, or until the chicken is thoroughly cooked and the casserole is bubbling and golden. The internal temperature of the ground chicken should reach 74°C (165°F).
The zucchini casserole is ready to serve as soon as it comes out of the oven. If desired, garnish it with fresh or dried, finely chopped dill, parsley, or basil.
Cooking tips and variations:
For greasing the baking dish, choose an oil suitable for oven cooking, such as sunflower, mustard, sesame, or corn oil. Consider the oil’s smoke point and the oven temperature when making your choice.
For a more aromatic and spicy sauce, add a little ground black pepper, ground coriander, and/or black cumin seed flour. These ingredients pair well with the mild flavor of zucchini and chicken. You can find these and many other artisan food products at the Ukrainian online store CraftOil.
