Ingredients
To prepare chicken in creamy garlic milk sauce (2 servings), you will need:
- 500 g chicken (breast, thighs, or drumsticks);
- 2 cloves fresh garlic;
- 1 teaspoon dried garlic;
- 5–6 sprigs fresh cilantro;
- 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour;
- 3 tablespoons vegetable oil;
- 1 teaspoon salt;
- 300 ml milk;
- 1 pinch ground black pepper;
How to make creamy garlic chicken
Pat the chicken dry with paper towels after rinsing. Season it with salt, dried garlic and black pepper. Refrigerate for 20–30 minutes to marinate.
Wash the cilantro and finely chop it. Peel the garlic and either mince it with a knife or press it through a garlic press.
Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the chicken and cook for about 10–15 minutes, turning once, until both sides develop a beautiful golden-brown crust. Remove the chicken from the skillet.
Add the chopped garlic and cilantro to the same pan. Sauté for 3–4 minutes, then sprinkle in the flour. Stir continuously over low heat for another 6–8 minutes.
Slowly pour in the milk while stirring constantly until the sauce becomes smooth. Simmer gently for 10–15 minutes until it thickens.
Return the chicken to the skillet, cover with a lid, and cook over low heat for approximately 20 minutes. Remove from the heat and let the dish rest for another 10–15 minutes before serving. This allows the meat to absorb the rich garlic milk sauce and become even more tender.
