Chicken nuggets are more than just a filling meal — they are a real treat for chicken lovers. The creator of the original chicken nugget recipe was Robert Baker, an American food scientist and professor at Cornell University. He developed a special coating for chicken that stayed intact after freezing and frying, helping the meat retain its juiciness and making it tender and delicious — almost melting in your mouth.
Sesame-crusted chicken nuggets have a deliciously crispy coating and an unusual nutty flavor. Adding sesame seeds to the breading also makes this homemade chicken dish even more nutritious. Sesame seeds are rich in calcium and potassium — minerals that play an important role in maintaining healthy bones, cartilage, hair, eyelashes, and nails. They also contain omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids, which are involved in lipid metabolism and many other metabolic processes.
In addition, sesame seeds contain phytosterols and the lignans sesamin and sesamolin, natural compounds known for their antioxidant properties and their role in protecting cells from oxidative stress.

Ingredients
To make crispy sesame chicken nuggets (2 servings), you will need:
1 chicken fillet (about 200 g/7 oz);
1 cup breadcrumbs (or finely crushed bread crumbs);
1 egg;
1 heaping tablespoon sesame seeds;
½ teaspoon salt;
1 teaspoon ground paprika;
3–4 tablespoons vegetable oil for frying;
Step-by-step cooking instructions
First, rinse the chicken fillet thoroughly under running water. Pat it dry with a clean paper towel and cut it into 8 pieces.
In a small bowl, beat the egg together with the salt and paprika. In a separate bowl, combine the sesame seeds with the breadcrumbs or finely crushed bread crumbs.
Heat a frying pan over medium heat and add the vegetable oil.
Dip each piece of chicken first into the beaten egg and then coat it thoroughly with the sesame breading. Place the coated chicken pieces into the hot pan.
Fry the sesame chicken nuggets for 5–7 minutes on each side, until golden brown and fully cooked. Transfer the crispy nuggets to a serving plate and serve hot.
If desired, garnish the nuggets with finely chopped fresh herbs such as dill, basil, or celery leaves.
Notes:
For frying, it is best to use an oil with a relatively high smoke point, such as sunflower, olive, or corn oil. If you cook the nuggets in sesame oil, they will have an especially rich, spicy, and distinctive sesame flavor.
The Ukrainian online store CraftOil offers an excellent selection of cold-pressed vegetable oils, organic defatted flour, grains, seeds, spices, seasonings, and dried herbs. We guarantee premium quality and freshness across our entire product range.
