Tests showed a reduction in triglycerides and «bad» cholesterol (LDL), along with an increase in «good» cholesterol (HDL). These changes help reduce the risk of cardiovascular diseases and promote the reduction of fat deposits, including visceral fat.

Cell-level experiments demonstrated that black cumin seeds suppress adipogenesis — the process of forming and maturing fat cells. This occurs by blocking fat accumulation and inhibiting cell differentiation. Detailed results of the study were published in Food Science & Nutrition.

As a result, Professor Kojima-Yuasa concluded that black cumin seeds and seed flour are effective components of a functional diet — a nutritional approach aimed at weight loss and long-term weight management.

How to use black cumin for weight loss

To reduce excess weight, black cumin seeds, oil, or flour can be consumed on their own or added to food. Best method: Take 1 teaspoon of black cumin flour daily, 15 minutes before breakfast.

With honey: mix 1 teaspoon of seeds with 1 teaspoon of honey and consume with warm water. Black cumin tea: add 2 tablespoons of cumin meal flour to 100 ml of boiling water, steep for 15 minutes, strain and divide into two servings and drink one in the morning before breakfast and one in the evening before dinner.

With kefir: mix 1 tablespoon of black cumin flour with 200 g of low-fat kefir, let sit for 1 hour, and consume instead of breakfast or dinner to support detox and weight loss.

Black cumin oil: use as a salad dressing or base for sauces and marinades at least 4–5 times per week.
