Experts predict record-breaking rapeseed harvest

Expected rapeseed production by region:

• Canada – 21.6 million tonnes (compared to 21.8 million tonnes last season). Despite a slight decline in output, planting areas are expected to increase by approximately 5% (up to 9.1 million hectares). Improved profitability ahead of the spring planting season is expected to support yields;
• European Union – up to 20.85 million tonnes (compared to 20.48 million tonnes in 2025/26);
• India – approximately 11.5 million tonnes, slightly higher than last year;
• Australia – around 7.75 million tonnes (vs. 7.68 million tonnes last year);

Analysts continue to monitor climate patterns, noting that rising temperatures in the Pacific Ocean may have a positive impact on crop yields.

In addition, sunflower and soybean harvests are also expected to exceed last year’s levels. Rapeseed, soybean, and sunflower remain the top three most promising oilseed crops globally.
