Ingredients
To prepare a hearty and delicious New Year’s holiday salad (3 servings), you will need:
- 300 g chicken fillet;
- 3 kiwis;
- 100 g hard cheese (any variety);
- 3 chicken eggs;
- 50 g walnuts (shelled);
- 100 g mayonnaise;
- 1 pinch of salt;
- 1 pinch of pepper (optional);
- 1 bunch of fresh herbs for garnish (dill or parsley);
Step-by-step preparation
First, prepare all the ingredients. Wash the chicken fillet and boil it in salted water until fully cooked. After it cools, remove it from the broth and cut it into thin strips or tear it into fibers. Grate the hard cheese on a grater.
Boil the eggs hard, then peel and dice them. Peel the kiwis and cut them into slices. Rinse the herbs thoroughly under running water, pat dry with a kitchen towel, and chop not too finely. Lightly crush the walnuts in a mortar.
Next, assemble the salad. In a deep bowl or salad dish, combine the chopped chicken, eggs, and crushed walnut kernels. Season with salt and pepper, add mayonnaise and mix well. Sprinkle the finished salad with grated cheese on top, decorate with kiwi slices and chopped herbs. Before serving, let the salad soak by placing it in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour.
Notes:
For dressing, it is best to use homemade mayonnaise made with raw, natural oil produced using the cold-pressing method. Corn, sunflower, flaxseed, hemp, poppy seed, and other oils are available for order in the CraftOil online store.
