Dryness, flaking, redness, and the unpleasant feeling of skin «tightness» are common issues many girls and women face during winter. Low temperatures, cold winds, and dry indoor air caused by heating systems negatively affect the skin, slowing down its natural renewal, disrupting the hydrolipid barrier, and making it more sensitive to external stressors.
Black seed oil (Nigella sativa oil) can help restore a healthy complexion, eliminate dryness, and even smooth fine lines. Face masks enriched with black seed oil deeply moisturize both the epidermis and dermis, repair the skin’s protective barrier, and suppress inflammatory processes — making them effective against breakouts and teenage acne.
In addition, kalonji black seed oil is known as an effective natural remedy for reducing under-eye bags. Learn more in our video:
Cold-pressed black seed oil extracted from kalonji seeds contains thymoquinone, a powerful antioxidant that slows down skin aging processes, as well as vitamins E, B, D, and K, each essential for healthy skin. Phytosterols in its composition help restore cell membranes, making the skin more resistant to negative environmental effects.
CraftOil offers the freshest, organic, eco-friendly, and 100% natural black seed oil made from carefully selected raw materials (Nigella sativa seeds) using our own presses. Ingredients
To prepare a moisturizing and anti-inflammatory winter face mask, you will need:
- 3 tablespoons of sour cream (preferably homemade or medium-fat store-bought);
- ½ teaspoon of ground cinnamon;
- 1 teaspoon of black seed oil;
Step-by-step preparation and application
Mix the sour cream with ground cinnamon and black seed oil until smooth. Apply the mixture in a moderately thick layer to clean skin, including the eye area, and leave it on for 20–25 minutes. To prevent the mask from drying out, you may cover your face with a clean paper tissue.
After the time has passed, rinse your face with water and apply a day or night cream to the nose, forehead, cheeks, and eyelids.
It is recommended to use this mask 1–2 times per week, depending on age and skin needs. The mask is suitable for all skin types, including dry, sensitive, and redness-prone skin.
Notes:
If your skin is very dry, it is beneficial to add ½ teaspoon of liquid (or melted) honey and a few drops of aloe vera juice to the ingredients listed above. This enhanced mask not only replenishes moisture but also accelerates the fading of scars and post-acne marks.
