The CraftOil DYB-63A electric hydraulic power unit is a portable high-pressure hydraulic power pack designed to operate compatible hydraulic presses, cylinders, jacks and professional hydraulic tools requiring pressures of up to 70 MPa (700 bar / approximately 10,153 psi).
Powered by a 0.75 kW electric motor and designed for a 220V single-phase power supply, this hydraulic pump unit is suitable for workshops, repair facilities, production environments and on-site installation work.
The DYB-63A features a two-stage hydraulic pump. During the initial, low-load movement, the pump delivers oil at a flow rate of up to 5 L/min. When the hydraulic cylinder encounters resistance, the pump automatically switches to the high-pressure stage, delivering up to 70 MPa at a flow rate of 0.9 L/min.
This two-stage design helps reduce idle travel time and eliminates the need for continuous manual pumping, making hydraulic operation more convenient for repetitive industrial and workshop tasks.
The unit features a 7-litre oil reservoir, a manual hydraulic control valve and a glycerine-filled pressure gauge with a 1000 bar scale.
Whether you need an electric hydraulic pump for a compatible cold-press oil extraction machine, a hydraulic crimping tool or a high-pressure hydraulic cylinder, the DYB-63A provides a practical power source for applications requiring a single hydraulic working circuit.
What Does “Single-Acting” or “Single-Circuit” Mean?
The DYB-63A is designed for a single hydraulic working outlet and one connected tool at a time. It is intended for applications where the hydraulic cylinder or tool is designed to return when hydraulic pressure is released, typically through a spring-return or gravity-return mechanism.
Key advantages of a single-circuit hydraulic power unit
Simple hydraulic configuration
A single working circuit can simplify installation and reduce system complexity when compared with arrangements requiring multiple controlled hydraulic outputs.
Suitable for compatible single-acting cylinders
The unit can operate equipment designed for pressure-driven extension and spring-assisted, gravity-assisted or other manufacturer-approved pressure-release return mechanisms.
Practical for workshop and field applications
The electric motor reduces operator effort compared with manually pumping a hydraulic jack, while the portable design makes the unit convenient for different work environments.
Important compatibility limitation
The DYB-63A should not be assumed suitable for double-acting hydraulic cylinders that require controlled oil supply to both sides of the piston. It is also not designed to operate two independent hydraulic tools simultaneously.
If your application requires a double-acting cylinder, multiple outlets or a different valve configuration, contact CraftOil before purchasing. We will help identify a suitable hydraulic power unit for your equipment.

Actual cylinder speed depends on cylinder displacement, load, hydraulic circuit design and operating pressure. The stated flow rates are stage-specific ratings.
Why Does the Pressure Gauge Have a 1000 Bar Scale if the Maximum Operating Pressure Is 700 Bar?
The DYB-63A is supplied with a glycerine-filled pressure gauge rated to display pressures up to 1000 bar, while the hydraulic power unit has a maximum operating pressure of 700 bar.
A gauge with a scale above the normal operating pressure can provide useful measurement headroom and make the working pressure easier to read within the scale range. Glycerine inside the gauge helps dampen needle vibration caused by mechanical movement and pressure pulsations.
However, the 1000 bar gauge rating does not mean that the hydraulic power unit or connected equipment can safely operate at 1000 bar. The maximum rated operating pressure of the power unit remains 700 bar, and every connected component must be suitable for the intended pressure.

Which Hydraulic Oil Should You Use?
Choosing the correct hydraulic oil is essential for reliable pump operation, lubrication, temperature control and the service life of seals and hydraulic components.
1. Recommended viscosity grade
Depending on the manufacturer’s requirements and operating temperature, suitable options may include industrial hydraulic oils in the ISO VG 32 or ISO VG 46 viscosity grades, such as compatible HLP 32 or HLP 46 products.
Locally available alternatives should only be used if their specifications meet the requirements stated in the equipment documentation.
Always verify the required oil grade in the DYB-63A operating manual before filling the reservoir.
2. Oil quantity
The nominal reservoir capacity is 7 litres. The correct filling level must follow the manufacturer’s instructions and account for the oil required by the connected hydraulic circuit.
Ensure there is sufficient oil for the full operating stroke without exceeding the permitted reservoir level.
3. Oil cleanliness
Fill the system with clean hydraulic oil using suitable filtration. Contamination can damage the pump, valves and seals, potentially leading to unstable operation or premature component failure.
4. Oil replacement
Inspect the oil regularly and follow the manufacturer’s maintenance schedule. Oil that becomes unusually dark, develops a burnt smell or shows signs of contamination should be investigated and replaced when necessary.
5. Do not mix incompatible oils
Avoid mixing hydraulic oils of different types or manufacturers unless compatibility has been confirmed.
Safety and Operating Recommendations
High-pressure hydraulic equipment requires proper installation, inspection and safe operating procedures.
-
Inspect the high-pressure hose before every start-up. Replace hoses with cracks, swelling, leaks or other visible damage.
-
Never exceed the rated working pressure of the hydraulic power unit or any connected cylinder, hose, coupling, valve or tool.
-
Do not disconnect quick couplings while the system is pressurised.
-
Release hydraulic pressure safely before maintenance or disconnection, following the manufacturer’s instructions.
-
Wear suitable eye protection and keep hands away from hydraulic leaks. A high-pressure oil jet can penetrate the skin and requires immediate emergency medical attention.
-
Monitor oil temperature during prolonged operation and follow the recommended duty cycle.
-
Ensure proper electrical grounding and use a compatible, correctly rated electrical installation.
-
Confirm that all hydraulic components and pressure-control arrangements are suitable for the intended application.
Installation and connection should be performed by a qualified person familiar with high-pressure hydraulic systems.
