Beekeeping is traditionally associated with the countryside and rural charm. However, the global decline in bee populations and the growing interest in pollinators have given rise to a unique trend \u2014 urban beekeeping.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For instance, in just the past two years, the number of beekeepers in New York City has quadrupled. In early 2023, there were around 325 officially registered beekeepers. Today, that number is approximately 1,300. This dramatic rise is largely due to the repeal of a 1999 city law that banned beekeeping within city limits, following increasing concerns over pollinator decline.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Even during harsh -30\u00b0C (-22\u00b0F) winters, the temperature inside a well-insulated hive can remain around +20\u00b0C (68\u00b0F).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
